Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Maasai Mara

Your safari adventure begins with a transfer to Wilson Airport in Nairobi for a scheduled morning flight to the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve. The scenic flight takes approximately 45 minutes and offers breathtaking aerial views of the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley.

Upon arrival at the Mara airstrip, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge or camp while enjoying your first game drive in the reserve. This drive already gives you the chance to spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and possibly lions or cheetahs.

Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and relaxation before heading out for an afternoon game drive across the vast plains in search of the Big Five and other wildlife. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive, the best time to witness predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards while they are most active. The Mara’s ecosystem is incredibly rich, meaning you can expect to see large herds of buffalo, elephants, wildebeest, and many species of antelope.

Later in the morning, return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, head out again for another thrilling game drive exploring different sections of the reserve. Depending on the season, you might witness dramatic predator hunts or massive herds crossing the plains.

Optional activities include a visit to a Maasai village to learn about their traditions and culture. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Start the day with an early morning game drive or an optional hot air balloon safari that floats silently above the Mara plains as the sun rises. This once-in-a-lifetime experience offers spectacular aerial views of wildlife and landscapes followed by a champagne bush breakfast in the savannah.

After breakfast, enjoy time at the lodge or take part in another game drive to explore deeper parts of the reserve such as river areas where hippos and crocodiles can often be seen.

In the afternoon, depart for another exciting safari drive searching for wildlife you may not yet have spotted. As the sun sets, enjoy a magical sundowner experience in the bush before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge while soaking in your final views of the savannah. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a short morning game drive before transferring to the airstrip.

Board your return flight back to Nairobi, arriving after approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel or the international airport marking the end of your unforgettable Maasai Mara safari adventure.
