Safari  itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Your luxury Kenya safari begins in Nairobi with a personalized pick-up before traveling north to the remote and dramatic Samburu National Reserve. As the landscapes change from fertile highlands to rugged semi-arid wilderness, you feel the excitement of stepping into true safari country. Arrive at your luxury lodge along the Ewaso Nyiro River and enjoy an afternoon game drive, encountering elephants, lions, leopards, and the unique Samburu Special Five. From the very first day, you are not just watching the safari—you are part of it.

Spend a full day immersed in Samburu, exploring its striking landscapes and wildlife-rich riverbanks. Morning and afternoon game drives allow you to follow wildlife movements alongside expert guides, offering close encounters with predators, large elephant herds, and diverse birdlife. Samburu’s exclusive and uncrowded environment creates a deeply personal safari in Kenya, where every moment feels authentic and intimate.

After breakfast, journey south toward the cool, forested Aberdare Highlands. This region is rich in history and famously known as the place where Princess Elizabeth learned of her ascension to the British throne in 1952. Arrive at your forest lodge overlooking wildlife waterholes, where elephants, buffaloes, and forest antelope appear quietly from the trees. From the lodge’s viewing decks, you experience a timeless safari atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Kenya.

Descend from the misty Aberdares into the Great Rift Valley, continuing your Kenya safari to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a game drive upon arrival, exploring landscapes renowned for flamingos, black and white rhinos, and Rothschild’s giraffes. As you settle into your luxury lodge overlooking the lake, the harmony between scenery and wildlife deepens your safari experience.

After breakfast, travel to the tranquil shores of Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya’s most scenic freshwater lakes. The relaxed pace of the day allows you to absorb the beauty of the Rift Valley at your own rhythm. Settle into your lakeside lodge and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, with opportunities to observe birdlife and wildlife roaming freely around the property.

Today, your safari journey leads to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve. En route or upon arrival, enjoy a visit to a traditional Maasai village, where you engage with the community and gain insight into their culture, traditions, and way of life. Arrive at your luxury tented camp and head out on an afternoon game drive, where the vast savannahs and abundant wildlife welcome you into the heart of safari in Kenya.

Spend a full day immersed in the Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Morning and afternoon game drives offer exceptional opportunities to witness the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Wildebeest Migration. For a truly unforgettable experience, opt for a sunrise hot air balloon safari, followed by a champagne bush breakfast. As the day concludes, enjoy a classic safari sundowner, watching the sun set over the endless plains as wildlife roams freely.

After breakfast, depart the Mara and return to Nairobi. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and iconic cuisine. Vegetarian guests are equally well catered for with carefully selected alternative restaurants offering refined plant-based menus. This final evening is a celebration of your remarkable Kenya safari journey.

On your final day, enjoy breakfast before your private transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Depending on your departure flight, you may choose an optional Nairobi city tour, visiting attractions such as Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre, or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. As your luxury safari in Kenya comes to an end, you depart with lasting memories and a deep connection to Kenya’s landscapes, wildlife, and living safari heritage.
