Safari itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Begin your Kenya Signature Safari with a private transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. Known for its iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and vast herds of elephants, Amboseli sets the stage for an unforgettable safari. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, and elephants roaming freely across the open plains. From the very first day, you step into a living safari, feeling fully part of Kenya’s wildlife.

Spend a full day immersed in Amboseli’s stunning landscapes with morning and afternoon game drives. Follow elephant herds along the savannah and observe lions, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife. Amboseli’s expansive plains and dramatic vistas provide the perfect setting for photography and intimate wildlife encounters, making you feel part of the wilderness rather than a mere observer.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive or relax at your lodge before returning to Nairobi. The evening is free to rest or enjoy Nairobi’s luxury amenities, preparing for the next stage of your safari adventure in northern Kenya.

Travel north to Samburu National Reserve, a remote wilderness famed for its unique wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. Arrive at your luxury lodge along the Ewaso Nyiro River and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Samburu’s arid, dramatic landscapes provide a completely different safari experience from southern Kenya.

Spend the day exploring Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s uncrowded, rugged terrain allows intimate wildlife encounters, from elephants and lions to rare species unique to the region. Every moment feels immersive, giving you the sense of truly living a safari in Kenya.

After breakfast, travel south to the misty Aberdare Highlands, a historic region where Princess Elizabeth learned of her ascension to the throne. Stay at a forest lodge overlooking wildlife waterholes, where elephants, buffalo, and antelope roam. The Aberdares combine history, culture, and wildlife for a serene, elegant safari experience.

Descend into the Great Rift Valley and arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Famous for its flamingos, rhinos, and diverse birdlife, Lake Nakuru offers spectacular scenery and game viewing. Enjoy an afternoon game drive tracking black and white rhinos, giraffes, and lions against the backdrop of the Rift Valley escarpments.

Travel to the legendary Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated safari destinations. Along the way or upon arrival, visit a Maasai village to experience the vibrant culture and traditions of this iconic community. Check in to your luxury tented camp before an afternoon game drive through the Mara’s vast savannahs, where wildlife roams freely.

Spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Witness the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Wildebeest Migration. Optional experiences include a sunrise hot air balloon safari with champagne breakfast or a classic bush sundowner. The Mara’s endless plains and abundant wildlife provide a truly immersive safari experience.

After breakfast, depart the Mara and return to Nairobi. Relax at your luxury hotel or enjoy a farewell dinner at the iconic Carnivore Restaurant, with alternative options for vegetarian guests. Reflect on your Kenya Signature Safari and the unforgettable wildlife, landscapes, and cultural experiences you’ve encountered.

Enjoy breakfast and a private transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Depending on your departure schedule, an optional Nairobi city tour can include the Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, or Nairobi National Park. Depart Kenya with lasting memories of a safari that immersed you in the country’s wildlife, culture, and landscapes.
