Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Take time to relax after your international journey or explore Nairobi on a short city tour, visiting attractions like the Karen Blixen Museum or local markets. This gentle introduction sets the tone for the thrilling safari ahead.

Depart Nairobi for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, nestled between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. Famous for its conservation initiatives, Ol Pejeta protects endangered species including the last northern white rhinos. Enjoy game drives to see elephants, lions, buffalo, and chimpanzees, set against a stunning backdrop of rolling plains and forests.

Travel north to the Samburu ecosystem, including Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. Characterized by semi-arid landscapes and the Ewaso Nyiro River, this region is home to the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. Afternoon game drives reveal predators, elephants, and other wildlife in a dramatic, rugged environment.

Spend the day exploring Samburu and Buffalo Springs with morning and afternoon game drives. Riverbanks attract wildlife for drinking and bathing, while the plains host predator-prey interactions. Between drives, relax at your lodge and soak in the tranquility of this remote safari destination.

Journey south to Solio Game Reserve, a private conservancy known for successful rhino conservation. Black and white rhinos are frequently seen at close range, set against the scenic backdrop of Mount Kenya. This reserve offers an intimate safari experience and unique wildlife encounters.

Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. Famous for its flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, and Rothschild giraffes, the park is also home to lions, leopards, and a variety of plains game. Enjoy a full-day game drive around the lake and take in the spectacular birdlife and landscapes.

Drive to Maasai Mara, passing through the Great Rift Valley escarpment and Narok town. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in the iconic Maasai Mara, renowned for the Big Five and abundant wildlife. Optional walking safaris offer a closer, immersive connection with nature. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Begin with an early morning game drive as the Mara comes alive. Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains, observing zebras, wildebeest (seasonal migration), giraffes, topis, and predators including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Packed lunches allow uninterrupted wildlife exploration, with evening game drives providing spectacular sunset photo opportunities.

After breakfast, cross into Tanzania via the Isebania border and continue to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy an en-route game drive, encountering abundant wildlife and the rolling plains of the Serengeti. Arrive at your lodge and relax for the evening.

Spend the full day exploring the Serengeti, following herds of wildebeest (seasonal) and observing predators in action. A picnic lunch in the heart of the park allows uninterrupted wildlife viewing, from elephants and lions to cheetahs and giraffes. Capture unforgettable photos of this iconic wilderness

Depart the Serengeti with an en-route game drive before arriving in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check into your lodge and enjoy stunning views of one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife landscapes.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Witness lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, zebras, and wildebeest within this volcanic caldera. Learn from your expert guide about the crater’s unique ecosystem while enjoying exceptional photography opportunities. Return to the lodge in the evening.

Explore Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Follow the Tarangire River, observing diverse wildlife. Optional alternative: visit Lake Manyara, famous for tree-climbing lions and flamingo-filled waters.

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home, concluding your extraordinary 14-day safari adventure through Kenya and Tanzania.
